Glossop’s bouldering wall is based at the Glossop Leisure Centre on High Street East, Glossop. It is a Bendcrete wall with steep, technical and very fingery climbing on a featured and textured surface with few bolt on holds. It is on a balcony and is around 14ft high (or thereabouts) – with no leading or top roping. It is a challenging wall and is less than inspiring on first acquaintance – but with just a little perseverance it can quickly become addictive, with a select group of locals  whilling away the dark winter months on ever-more tenuous moves. It is certainly worth a visit – and with the attached guide could be the start of a sad new life – but mind those fingers – there have been many climbing seasons curtailed by a twanged tendon sustained at Glossop Wall!
